if thats what the official lyrics say so be it but I really dont think that is what he is saying, and I have seen official lyrics before where the final album version is recorded with a slight variation...I probably painted myself into a corner earlier saying Mercer is hard to hear sometimes but there is no way he is singing "the" there..you can hear a distinct "s" on the end
