In 1959, Raymond Scott organized a band of top-ranking jazz session musicians and recorded an album entitled The Unexpected, credited to The Secret Seven. The secrecy extended to withholding the identity of the musicians in the album's liner notes. The players were later identified as Elvin Jones, Milt Hinton, Kenny Burrell, Eddie Costa, Sam "The Man" Taylor, Harry "Sweets" Edison, Wild Bill Davis and Toots Thielemans.
