A nice multi-camera shot live rendition of their classic hit. During this period, the group consisted of originals John McNally and Mike Pender with almost original Frank Allen and drummer Billy Adamson (who had been with the group since 1970).

If you liked this song, try these: " Love potion number 9" and "Everybody Loves a Clown", by Gary Lewis and the Playboys. Also, "Baby Come Back", by Player. All good songs, made around the same time. All part of the British Invasion.

Maybe I'm weird, but I like these guys playing this song, at least twice as good as Jackie Deshannon. Maybe it's because I can remember dancing to it, as sung by an imitator band, imitating The Searchers. Amazing how as young people, we used to have dances with live bands at a lot of the fire companies, at last in the Pennsylvania area. They don't have that any more for the young people, what a shame. I'm talking about people from about 14 to 19.

I think the Searchers version of this song is excellent. I really don't care for Jackie DeShannon's. She was a genius songwriter, though.

Not Sure you're right the guy in the middle is not an original

Actually, except for the drummer, this is the lineup of The Searchers that recorded this song.

Their studio version is the best and it's better than any other version I've heard. The 12 string guitar gives me chills.

On this day in 1964 {Feb. 8th} Jackie DeShannon performed "When You Walk In The Room" on the late Dick Clark's 'American Bandstand' One month earlier on Jan. 25th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart for a one week stay at position #99 Also in 1964 the Searchers covered it; their version reached #5 in U.K. and #35 in the U.S.A. And thirty years later in 1994 Pam Tillis took it to #2 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart RIP Mr. Clark {1929 - 2012} & Ms. DeShannon turns 69 on August 21st
