NEEDLES AND PINS´88 pieseň skupiny THE SEARCHERS, ktorá bola v pôvodnej verzii v UK rebríčku 15 týždňov od 16. januara 1964 a ako 162. hit dňa 30. januara 1964 nahradila na vrchole rebríčka Glad All Over od skupiny Dave Clark Five. Autormi piesne boli Sonny Bono a Jack Nitzsche. Pieseň pôvodne naspievala speváčka Jackie De Shannon , ktorej verzia v USA skončila v máji 1963 len 84.m. Verzia The Searchers bola na vrchole rebríčka tri týždne a stala sa ich najúspešnejšou piesňou s predajom 850 000 kusov.V USA ako prvý hit skupiny v marci 1964 obsadila 13.m. a predalo sa jej milion kusov. Skupinu v roku 1988 tvorili John McNally spev,sprievodná gitara jediný pôvodný člen, Frank Allen basová gitara, Billy Adamson bicie, ktorý nahradil Johna Blunta a Spencer James solová gitara, ktorý v roku 1985 nahradil Pendera. Žiaľ dvaja pôvodný členovia skupiny zomreli vo veku 63 rokov a to Jackson 18. augusta 2003 a Curtis 28. februara 2005.

On this day in 1964 {April 5th} the Searchers performed "Needles and Pins" on the CBS-TV program 'The Ed Sullivan Show'... One month earlier on March 7th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #13 and spent 10 weeks on the Top 100... And on January 30th it reached #1 {for 4 weeks} in the U.K. They were the 2nd British group {after the Beatles} to appear on the 'Sullivan' show... R.I.P. Mr. Sullivan {1901 - 1974}...
