This was a big hit when I was 6, and me and my brother and sister would sing it at the top of our voices. Our Mum used to get upset for no apparent reason, and then one day she told us why. She thought that calling Lily the Pink "the saviour of the human race" was blasphemous - "Jesus was the saviour of the human race!" she said. I told her to fuck off and have been an atheist to this day. Thanks, Scaffold for showing me the way and the light.
