Brian lived in the AA. Milne cottage.called Cotchford Farm..(AA created Winnie the Pooh) and wrote from there..Brian suffered from asthma and who knows THE REAL reason of his death. IT WASN'T SUICIDE (he swam well!) because he had plans of his own. But that day he was full of downers and booze. So sad.

The credits indicate guitars played by both KR and BJ, but I only hear one guitar.

Brian Jones's instrumental versatility was key to much of the interest in the early Stones (and their allure). A consummate musician yet a very troubled soul, he fell too deep in love with smack, obsessive shampooing and his image as leader to get in on the composing. Oldham didn't like him, and Jagger was too ambitious to stay in the back seat. Also, it can't have been fun to have gorgeous Anita Pallenberg taken from him by Keith (and, later, Mick, during the filming of 'Performance').Listen to how he brings this ordinary rocker right over the top. Note, though, that the remaster cranks up Jagger's vocals at the cost of Jones's featured harmonica (0:30-1:08): much of it's suppressed on the CD and what you're hearing. The peak *is* retained (1:09-1:30), but only the LP shows the richness of his contribution.

Jones was a truly gifted musician, but if you listen to any interviews or read them, its pretty clear the musical nucleus was Jagger/Richards. Brian had no writing abilities and was all about the fame and not being a musician towards the later part of the 60's. Even Ian Stewart has said Jagger and Richards would have been huge no matter who else ended up being in a band with them.

No Brown Sugar, Wild Horses, Tumbling Dice, Exile, Sticky Fingers, etc. Brian was great but can't agree there.

I agree - the name of the song is very timely.

Thank you for posting this. This song has gotten me through alot.Right now my boyfriend is really out there with heroin and even meth sometimes.I've tried so hard to help, but he's got warrants and he woun't listen.I know that no one is gonna be there when he goes to jail.So I really have to be super strong for him so I can be there if he lives long enough to come through this. This song really helps.Thank you.
