I'm from Texas...and I have to give Mick credit for doing a fairly good job!! Where he lost the Texas accent was on the word "king". And I live near Waylon's boyhood home.

Very cool. I love the original version by Waylon Jennings, and the 'Stones do a pretty good version themselves. The 'Stones always have been pretty good at performing country. (Honky Tonk Women was on the jukebox in a number of country bars I once frequented.)

Love, love, love to see Mick on the guitar. Ironically they are my all time favorite country music band... listen to Far Away Eyes and Honky Tonk Woman---- THE best imitations of country music-- ever!!! Give it to the Brits's (again)!! :)

How cool for the Stones to go into Texas and do a song especially for Texans. You can tell Mick was slightly out of his comfort zone, which made this all the more awesome. They nailed this song. A tribute to Bob Wills and Waylon in just under 4 minutes. This is one of the coolest things I've ever seen musically and I can't say I'm a huge Stones fan. Absolutely awesome.

Waylon wrote this while on a plane to Austin,,, apparently, just after he & Willie had a minor falling out over something...he wanted to let Willie know, that as good as he (Willie) might think he is, Bob Wills is the country music king of Texas... typical bad-ass Waylon,,, love him & Willie...

When you're down in Texas there's no Elvis. In Texas Bob Wills is still the king and will ALWAYS be the king.Thank RS for recognizing that.
