The Rocky Fellers were discovered as a pop/rock band in the 1960s by Stanley Kahn and signed to Scepter Records. The group was composed of four Filipino brothers: Tony, Junior, Eddie, and Albert Maligmat, and their father, Doroteo "Moro" Maligmat.

That delayed low 3rd b/u harmony at 1:43 still knocks me out. I'll never forget watching them when they performed on The Ed Sullivan Show. Wish I could find that clip from back then. Always dug them & the song !

There really was a 'Killer Joe"! He was a regular at NYC dance clubs (not yet "discos") in the '60s. This hit was inspired by his antics. Great piece of early bubble-gum with that distinct Filipino accent.

I found a 45 cut of this in an alley on the south side of saint Louis among so yeah and a ton of other destroyed records. A favorite of my collection. Thanks for the upload. I'm psyched to hear it without the skip at the end of my copy.

Certainly a real great sound of its time. What a party song it was back in 1963 !

Great song! I first heard in spring of 1963 while at boarding school. Never heard it again for 50 years when I happened to be eating at a Wendy's. Could that be coincidental, or was it a Divine encounter?

I recall that this was a fun song to dance to, especially the oooh at the one minute mark! Love it fifty years later.

I heard recently that this family group was from Wilmington, California. Can anyone confirm that ?

Is this the same group that recorded "Long Tall Sally" on the Cameo Parkway label?

This record reached #16 over a 13 week chart run beginning March 23, 1963. Their only other chart record, "Like The Big Guys Do," followed that June but only peaked at #55 ove a five-week run.

These guys turned up in a 1962 episode of "The Jack Benny Program" performing -- of all things -- "Long Tall Sally" -- first by themselves and then again with Benny. The Rocky Fellers success was entirely in 1963. The next year they and many other acts were blown off the charts by the arrival of the Beatles-led British Invasion.
