The Rocky Fellers were discovered as a pop/rock band in the 1960s by Stanley Kahn and signed to Scepter Records. The group was composed of four Filipino brothers: Tony, Junior, Eddie, and Albert Maligmat, and their father, Doroteo "Moro" Maligmat.

That delayed low 3rd b/u harmony at 1:43 still knocks me out. I'll never forget watching them when they performed on The Ed Sullivan Show. Wish I could find that clip from back then. Always dug them & the song !9 years ago

There really was a 'Killer Joe"! He was a regular at NYC dance clubs (not yet "discos") in the '60s. This hit was inspired by his antics. Great piece of early bubble-gum with that distinct Filipino accent.9 years ago

These guys turned up in a 1962 episode of "The Jack Benny Program" performing -- of all things -- "Long Tall Sally" -- first by themselves and then again with Benny. The Rocky Fellers success was entirely in 1963. The next year they and many other acts were blown off the charts by the arrival of the Beatles-led British Invasion.12 years ago
