It is simple. But, I bet the living that was the path to the heart of this tune was like the ascent "through many toils and snares," (or whatever it is), in "Amazing Grace." I mean: live, be gifted, be Paul, process the living, wait for the melody that fits, set in lovely lyric, and then this manner of precious rarity can be created. Awesome.

That Tide ad was a treat!! First, you have the story of friendship, the two whose mutual respect and care surfaces most tellingly in their easy comfort with each other, but it never would have worked directed by someone else, and likely not with different actresses. Then, there's the humorous sub-scene--"Is that coffee?" "Could be gravy!" I laughed my tail off!! How do they come up with this stuff? I totally forgot that I wanted to take in a legitimate masterpiece and work of beauty.

Definitely not The Replacements sound I loved so much. I'd agree. Even in the video, Tommy looks bored to Hades. What happened to the Mats and Paul? Did he start taking the press clippings to heart as to how "brilliant" he was and stop being... A "Replacement"?
