I remember seeing the Paper Dolls on Top Of The Pops and being blown away. They truly were the first British Girl Group.

In reply to fmichaelb - the style of dress the Paper Dolls were wearing was known as "Baby Doll" which was very popular in the late 60,s early 70,s.

What's the name of the style of dress they are all wearing? Notice that the "waist" is very high, right under the bosom (which tends to make it look bigger, which is probably the intention). I remember this style was popular in the late 1960's, but can't remember the name of it.

i have been listening to the paper dolls only album ," paper dolls house",quite a lot lately, not the best voices in the world, but wow what enthusiasm!! their follow up singles were as good as anything else around at the time and should have been massive. saw the girls live in liverpool in 1968 on the scott walker tour, they had the audience in the palm of their hands. catchy, light and not taking themselves too seriously, what pop should be.
