As much as I adore the Monkees, their 1980s comeback was a fairly grim affair. What I've heard of Pool It sounded just plain sad, with blah songwriting and a lot of bad 80s over-production.(Again, I LOVE the Monkees, so it pains me to say a word against them!) But this track is actually not bad at all. It could even fit in pretty well on one of their old records!
