@steven maneely sorry, just use google and wikipedia for 45 seconds and you'll find that's untrue. written by wreckless eric, the monkees were simply covering it.

Absolutely. What, they weren't a real band because they were put together by a company? You could argue the same for MANY groups since then ... The truth is, they put out LOTS of great music written by some of the top song writers of their era, and they always insisted on playing most of the instruments on their recordings ... Fast forward to today: I'd be willing to bet that a large percentage of chart-toppers can't even play an instrument ... they're strictly "entertainers" that can sing.

When did she become left-handed? Someone flipped the video. No way any band has three lefties! Hahahahahaha! :)

What's such a big deal about its being from a boy's point of view? Jack White's version of Dolly Parton's Jolene is incredible and he doesn't say a word about it? What's interesting about this version is the band's talent. They're tight. But the only thing interesting about the performer is her losing struggle with the guitar, which she tries so hard to conceal from the camera, and the herd instinct reactions of her infatuated audience.

It is a reckless eric song originally but you do not know what you are talking about either, the Monkees were a real group and in fact were the first artists to record simultaneous hits in UK and US, they also held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard album chart for 31 consecutive weeks, 37 weeks total, between 1966 and 1970, The Monkees released 127 songs on 10 albums and 13 non-LP singles. The final song they recorded was "It's Got To Be Love" so i would say thats a pretty real band!

Interesting this video is reversed. Everyone's playing left-handed and I know Gemma plays right-handed. No matter....she's always beautiful.

Nice cover, shame the bassist misses his intro when she sings bahamas as it gives such a great feel of being in the carib. Love the harmonsing vocals gives it some depth. Obviously done off the cuff with little practice which gives it its appeal as its more like a jammin session. Gonna listen to more of her stuff, new to me and great voice.
