Among the many things that I've f**ked up in my life is the fledgling career of an obscure (that's the bit that's my fault) Australian band called The Moles, who I managed to no success at all in the early 90s. In fact, I recon they were less well known AFTER I had worked with them than before.The singer / songwriter Richard Davies went on to make a number of excellent solo albums as well as one very brilliant (and actually quite successful, obviously long after I was involved) album as one half of Cardinal.Still, I was amazed to find this track on youtube. I was in the Maida Vale studios with them as they recorded this for a John Peel session (case in point: Yes, I got them that session, but Peel hated it! Doh!).I still think it sounds amazing now though, it was always my favourite track by them. I wish there was some way of getting an mp3 of it.

thank you! i corresponded with them for a few months back in the day, i.e. i pleaded that they do it. at first they didn't want to for whatever reason, but i suspect i was not the only one who was asking them to re-issue. hopefully, richard will deal with his personal issues; the tour stop in easthampton, ma on the "cardinal" tour was embarrassing and sad. couldn't listen to any of his stuff for a long time after that show.

@spacemenme good work. more people need to hear this stuff. i'm sure davies will get his act together sooner or later. it's a shame there's so much shite involved in getting a record released these days.

such a great album. i wrote to the label -flydaddy- that put out the last moles album, the cardinal stuff, and some of davies solo work, to reissue this and they did. all because of me (ha,ha,ha). wish r.d. would take a break from being a lawyer and put out more music.
