What the song is about to me is wanting something so bad and finally having it and it not being what you expected and it making you appreciate what you already have.

The forefront is of someone who wants to leave the world, and get's abducted to find that he doesn't want to leave home but he finds out that when he returns that no one believes him and his claims of being abducted. Everyone thinks he's making it up, except for some people. Aka, the people who believe in aliens. Dreamers think it was well, a dream. And the spacemen don't think he's being honest. He's saying that people don't believe things either like when he mentions the Nile. It seems that he has some sort of disorder causing him to hear voices. It could be PTSD, or even schizophrenia. That's my interpretation. I don't think there is a right or wrong, this is just how I see it.

I like to think that this song's about a man that's gotten into a car crash and now has delusions of being abducted by aliens. And it's all in his head. And in the end he finally realizes it.

I like to think its a silly song, but at times, i feel like it has a deeper meaning. Its all on how i feel that day. I think great songs can be interpreted in many ways, and the killers sure have great songs. They might have their own interpretation they havent shared with us!

Everyone is putting deep meaning to this song, but it reminds me of Project Blackwing from Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency

The song can mean whatever it means to you whether or not it was the artist's original intention? Maybe we can consider that?

I swapped channels on the comms to something more congenial, easy riding maybe and the random locals, as I weaved by the old Bank of England, through a motorised tapestry… The Threadneedle line… entwined… a ceaseless swell of machines and the preoccupied, commuters… absorbed by the hugely epileptic commercials… or rapt inside the private introversions. Despite the rain and the ungodly time the walkways were packed, near crawling and the conveyor lines was much the same… there was not an inch of space to make a jump…

Suraj Opinion is Never Better

this song might even be about becoming famous. the alien abduction is a metaphor for how the paparazzi and the fans probe into all the little details of his personal life, checking his blood type etc. the public don't really care about his feelings - they don't dwell on his transmission because it isn't televised. he wishes he could just return to his old home town, but knows he never really can escape his fame.the "starmaker" is his record producer. they find musicians and make stars out of them.these are his own thoughts about his own life. so at the end of the song he says "it's all in my mind"really though, there are so many possible metaphors in this song that I can't be sure. either way though, I love this song.

Not only is the layout terrible and ugly, but the mistakes in the lyrics are very annoying. Dislike

What are you guys talking about? This song's obviously about Buzz Lightyear from the first Toy Story movie.
