How is it that he managed to nail the vocals without sounding any thing like McCartney on the original?

I am confused as this band, whom has yet to produce any music I have enjoyed, covered a song I love very much. I sometimes like when people cover the Beatles but most of the time I just want to hear the Beatles. Give me the Beatles!

Don't get me wrong, I like this track and it's true to the original. The problem is, there was nothing wrong with the original. So, what are you going to change? Likely, any changes to the original will lower the quality, very notable exception was George Burns. The Fray only gets kudos for not f-ing up an existing masterpiece. But why not just listen to Sgt., Pepper?

A lot of Beatles' songs can't be labeled to a specific genre. Such as "I Am The Walrus", "Tomorrow Never Knows", "Flying", ect. These songs took period during there experimentation era [Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's, MMT, White Album, Abbey Road, & Yellow Submarine] .With the aid of psychedelic drugs, the Beatles started to write abstract music far away from they're old "skiffle" music when they first started.

The singer is clearly trying too hard to sound a certain way. The instrumentation is well done, and is nearly the exact same as the original version. However, I question whether that's the correct approach - this fails to deviate in any interesting way from the original. They've failed to make the tune "there own."

I agree, the original Paul SLHCB version is still better but this is damned good. For that matter, George Burns version is actually kind of cool too.

This song is magic to me because it is so uncatagorizable. Yes, it's got a distorted guitar backing and solo but is it rock? It's McCartney genius is what it is because like so many other people who grew up as nerds but matured into socially functional adults, the first time I ever heard this song I thought it was talking just to me and now, at 47 years of age, it still feels that personal. I simply cannot get tired of this tune or lyrics and I actually love to hear other people's versions.
