Charted at #3 on Billboard Hot 100 in August 1955. One of my favorite records of 1955! Original Billboard review: "The original King disking of this tune, by the virtually unknown Boyd Bennett, is already on the Pop Charts, and this swingin' cover job by the hot sister act should climb very swiftly into the top brackets. The material is as cute and fresh as anything that's come around in recent months. Could be the big version."
Also charted at #5 for Boyd Bennett in July 1955 (#16 UK, #7 R&B), and #18 for Rusty Draper in August 1955. In the UK, a version by Frankie Vaughan charted at #18 in December 1955.

After years as Perry Como's sidekicks on television and on records the Fontanes amazingly shifted to rock 'n roll via Randy Wood's Dot label and did so seamlessly. They had a natural feel for the music and though out of the rock age bracket no one cared because the records were great. Flip side, the oldie "If I Could Be With You," is regarded artistically as among their best work.9 years ago

Great upbeat song. Heard the original, and it's not bad, but not as catchy as this one. Who says a second version can't be better than the original. The classic case being Sh-Boom by the Crew-cuts which easily outshines the original.12 years ago
