Surprised that Jimmie slung a Strat after laying down these sweet tones. He sure made that Telecaster purr on this phenomenal album. I like what Kim is doing with the loaded Band with Horns but the simplicity of a 3-piece and Harp made this record a true Master's Stroke. T-Birds are still a hard measure to weigh every Blues Combo since and Girls Go Wild the rule on what a contemporary Blues Band should aspire to be! Damn Proud To Be From Texas!!

Oh man, I'm right there with you. I've been listening to the T.Birds longer than I can remember. Don't be too quick to toss them on the trash heap today. I finally got my hands on "Walk the Walk and Talk the Talk," and it blew me away. It's a really different sound, but that doesn't mean it's not great in a new way. But then I'd listen to Kim Wilson sing anything in the middle of the night sitting in a field in the rain...

In their day they were one of the Best Bands in the world...and I don't mean only Blues Bands either. I never tire of listening to The T-Birds or The Stray Cats. Timeless and it gets no better.

I first saw the birds in Chicago opening for Johnny Winter at the Aragon back in the early 80's. They blew the doors off the place and I was hooked. No disrespect but they were not an opening act to anyone that night. Best thing to ever come out of Texas!
