I remember being in Grade 10 and having to talk about a song to which I relate. I chose this one and played it in the background while I explained the song and my relation to it. And I remember getting these blank stares. Looking back on it now, the whole situation fit this song perfectly. Haha.

But really this song is about being the one ON the stage, your LIFE being ON the stage and all the audience "will resume their callow ways" but being meant for the stage is hard and trecherous road; most who try to follow don't come back or find their destination.
