Yeah. Great song. We were at college at the time and we played it with our band every weekend. Poor recording though. Could have been so much better.

Are these the same Contrasts who recorded a brill tune called 'Call Me' around 1964/65? Really keen to find this track.

In spite of the Beatles, this was the most popular song at Butlins Skegness in 1963, it must have been played once every hour, and never failed to fill the dance floor. It was produced by George Martin, but seems to have lost something in the recording studio; I thought it would be a smash hit.

Thanks for this. We played this with our band at college back in '64. I think the Contrasts appeared on Tuesday Rendezvous or Five O'clock club. This could have been much better if a bit more time was spent on it. Nevertheless great to hear it again.

Saw the Contrasts with Bill Forbes at Butlins, Skegness in summer 1963. They had just replaced Rory Storm & the Hurricanes with Ringo Starr as the resident band. The song was sung as "Can't get her out of my mind" at that time, but was changed for the recording. Is guitarist John Armitage still around? Last heard of in Huddersfield

Roughly every year we Google this track but it never appears. It was played twice in the last 20 years by Radio 2 in Sounds of the Sixties. The only two programmes we ever missed recording were these two. The single had no great reviews at the time and didn't chart but was heavily played for a short period in early '64 by Radio Luxembourg. Thanks Flatop47 and YouTube for sharing this rare find.
