Really a beautiful song!

I've always thought this tune should have gone to "Easy Rider" (an extra riding scene with Jack Nicholson on the back of Fonda's chop). Initially, Hopper wanted to make ER a longer flick. There was plenty of fantastic country out west to provide a backdrop for an additional riding scene.

Should every person on earth awaken listening to this song, all war would end. 1:25 "And I will remember the place that is now, that has ended before the beginning." "Freeze, violent assholes, the jig is up, drop those guns; go on into our jails, and we'll teach you how to love one another." says Jehovah God and Christ Jesus.

On this day in 1966 {July 10th} "5 D (Fifth Dimension)" by the Byrds entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #74; and on July 24th, 1966 it peaked at #44 {for 2 weeks} and spent 5 weeks on the Top 100...Between 1965 and 1970 the band had sixteen Top 100 records; with two making the Top 10 and both reached #1, "Mr. Tambourine Man" {for 1 week in 1965} and "Turn! Turn! Turn!" {For 3 weeks in 1965}...

Bee, could you suggest some byrds songs which have a meditative feel to them? the reason why I'm asking this question is: i;m starting a meditation folder and I need to fns some songs from the 60s which can be used with meditation

at this point it's obvious they knew they could deliver without staying comfortly formulaic, this song crimbs and crawls, it is sort of an unexpected but very well delivered opening of an album, ecclectic rhytm and so on, more than just "swinging 60's" was the first byrds album I pruchased and now recently I've ordered a vinyl copy. Maybe this one was not a smash it considered but they sure did deliver

forgot to mention, this is the original mono mix. while some albums deserve a full remaster, others just seem to lose something in that process. i've always thought the mono sounded fuller, and did the song proper justice.
