Glad y' all discovered Jericho ,I have enjoyed this for 20yrs ,especially Country Boy that ends the record. This is Richard recorded before he passed and included on this album produced by Aaron "Professor Louie " Hurwitz . He also produced (and played on as well) the two subsequent Band releases High on the Hog and Jubilation all great additions along with Jericho to their catalogue . Check out the covers of Dylan's Blind Willie McTell and Springsteen's Atlantic City they are classic Levon Helm at his best ! The entire record is actually one of the great latter day masterpieces of this genre of music and highly regarded by their peers. The Jericho version of Blind Willie was the inspiration for the Allman Brothers live covers of the song which Im certain can be viewed on youtube ! God Bless youtube and y'all for liking the Band and this record!

No, it's Richard. The vocal and basic track was recorded years back before he died, Garth added his several parts to the basic track and they released it on the '94 album 'Jericho' as tribute to Richard.

stephenthebobcatokla: You are mistaken. The Band placed this recording on the album as a tribute to Richard. I am confused as to why you would think this could be Rick Danko!

This is not Richard Manuel, this is Rick Danko. This cd came out in 1994. Richard committed suicide in 1986 after a show in Florida. He died in his hotel room during a mini- Band reunion. The song "Too Soon Gone' was written for him as a tribute. I was luck enough to see the Band in APRIL 95' @ the cain's ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I went to show with a fantasy that maybe Bob Dylan would make a special appearance (he didn't) but what a great show it was.

The Band have so many qualities. One of them is the voice Richard Manuel which will live on long after we have gone.
