In my opinion alestorm is better, these guys I wouldn't consider pirate metal more like melodeath with pirate theme 10 years ago

WAY better than Alestorm. They're fun but their songs lack a lot of brutality and they can get boring after a while (also the vocals are really meh). But Swashbuckle has some sick riffs, the best vocals I've heard in quite a while and you can hear everything here pretty clearly, even the bass. These guys deserve more recognition10 years ago

Swashbuckle and Alestorm are both awesome. I listen to either depending what mood I'm in, thrash metal Shashbuckle or power metal then Alestorm, they are completely different bands11 years ago

I think Alestorm take the more comic approach to Pirates like in the Pirates of the Caribbean. Where as Swashbuckle take the darker side of being a pirate.12 years ago

I love swashbuckle! And I also love alstorm! They are both really good in their own ways! Both bands have their own different styles. For example they sing differently act and dress differently. Their lyrics are very different too!12 years ago

Lol this really isn't how pirates are or were. This is a perpetuated stereotype of pirates which is based on the golden age of piracy. But what most people don't realize, is that the golden age of piracy really only lasted about 35 years. In real life, pirates use motor boats, machine guns and they don't have peg legs or eye patches. haha. Nevertheless though, great band12 years ago
