The Elton John Band really rocks on this 1973 recording! The song was written by Elton John & Bernie Taupin for Kiki Dee's 1973 album "Loving & Free". Elton co-produced the album with Clive Franks for his own newly formed Rocket Records label. The Elton John Band features Davey Johnstone on guitars, Dee Murray on bass, Nigel Olsson on drums, and Elton himself on piano. A few years before "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" fame, Elton John & Kiki Dee were already friends and working together in 1973. She also sang back-up on Elton's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album!
