Oh, Hell-yeah! I've been spending a lot of time with T.P.'s original lately, because I've always felt like it was "unfinished" (maybe Tom meant it to be that way; never heard him comment on it), and I wanted to "finish" it, in my own way. Weirdly enough, the more time I spent with it, and writing and re-writing, and trying to figure out where it was going next, it started to feel "country" to me, too! I say "weirdly", because I'm not an especially "country kind-of guy" . . . but, the lyrics I wrote for it, a third and fourth verse, for some reason took a decidedly country turn (in more ways than one), both in the lyrics and in the way I "heard" it. I am *loving* Sugarland's take on it! Jen & Co. are "feeling it" the way I ultimately came to feel and think about it, and it's *way* different from where Tom started with it. Now, I just need a little bit of "personal courage", and a *really* thick skin, for what's going to get thrown at me :-)~ . . . thanks, SL, for "egging me on"! Had never heard your take on it before, but I'm also NOT surprised at how well it flows, and feels, coming from y'all! Oh, and "Just One More Thing" . . . thanks to Tom Petty, for "leaving it hanging", and "bugging me" with it, for all these years LOL!

Why is it that,everyone is criticizing them all they did was go and do an amazing cover of an amazing song, and of course its not supposed to be like the original that would b why its called a cover.so my oppinion is that they did a great job and well they shouldn't b criticized just because its not the original or just because they r country!
