Mistakes We Knew We Were Making by Straylight Run

Lyrics:

and all our sins

come back to haunt us in the end

to hang around and tap us on the shoulder

and smile silent

it's all implied

you'll die trying to live this down

you might as well forget it

still I'm convinced that wondering what if

is the worst thing there is

so we bottled and shelved all our regrets

let them ferment and came back to our senses

drove back home and slept a few days

woke up and laughed at how stupid we used to be

and all these lines fall short of what I had in mind

a failed attempt to capsulize a feeling

so I just try

fail and try and try again

someday I swear I'm going to get it

because I'm convinced that giving in

is the worst thing there is

so we bottled and shelved all our regrets

let them ferment and came back to our senses

drove back home and slept a few days

woke up and laughed at how stupid we used to be

we'll get over it

sad, strong, safe, and sober

we'll move forward

and know where we went wrong

but you can't go home again

you can't go home again

you can't go home again

you can't go home again...

so we bottled and shelved all our regrets

let them ferment and came back to our senses

drove back home and slept a few days

woke up and laughed at how stupid we used to be

what is all this lydia talk? glad everyone is talking about whatever LBD is, and not about how great this song is...

I think the most important line here, in regard to Lydia, is "you can't go home anymore." She desperately misses her sisters, and she feels utterly alone, yet she feels that there's nowhere else for her to go except to George. It may not be the best idea, but it's all she has. It's the tragic sense of displacement - she has nowhere to go.

I didn't even known there was a band named after William Gibson's Neuromancer. I have to say that this isn't quite the style of music I would imagine playing during the Straylight run, but I suppose it fits in a way.

For LBD fans. I think Lizzie feels trapped and alone. Trapped with Wickham, alone without Lizzie, Jane, or Mary. She probably feels she can't go to anyone, so it is better to have someone than be alone. But she knows that being with Wickham isn't the best idea, but she can't help but stay.

I love this song and wish i'd been able to see them in concert - and that this video has been hijacked by TLBD

That's a possibility, but I think it was more that Lydia was just watching videos of her and Lizzie together and remembering what the good times were like.

But she watched the videos in which Lizzie slams Darcy, almost as if to remind Lizzie how much she hated him (since it's obvious in the last Lizzie video her opinions are changing)

I declare this video hijacked by the LBD fandom!

I think this is less about lizzy and more about that frakkin' Wikham.. Did you see how horrible she looked like in her last video?

glad i'm not the only LBD fan here. My theory is that she's really missing lizzie right now, she did just go and watch a bunch of her videos?

RIGHT?!??! I wonder if she's trying to say she regrets what she's been doing?? considering she just went and liked a bunch of Lizzie's videos....WEIRD. I need some good theories

I find it hard to believe he's the same John Nolan from Taking Back Sunday when I hear his voice and this music, but when you read the lyrics you can see it so clearly.
