Hmmm... it's been a while, I'd better get back into the swing of things with the posting. Contrary to popular myth Punk music never actually died, you see it lives on in popular modern day rock bands and one of the biggest are Green Day. You can hear Irish Rebel Punk band, The Stiff Little Fingers in alot of their music, even up to American Idiot and Beyond.A fairly uncredited band, The Stiffs were extremely underrated as a live act outside the Punk fraternity and they don't get the credit they deserve, in y opinion as a result of the lyrical content of their songs. This track " Barbed Wire Love" is about A Northern Irish Protestant and Catholic falling in love across the battle lines. If you can handle the Irish Political commentary then give their back catelogue a listen. There are lots of Green Day familiar riffs and licks!
