You have to remember he originally recorded this song at age 12 in late 1962/early 1963. By the time this song went to no. 1 on the Hot 100 in the summer of 1963 (spending three weeks at the top that August), his voice was changing and, prior to his 1965 comeback with "Uptight (Everything's Going to Be Alright)," subsequent singles following this didn't perform quite as well and Motown briefly considered nullifying Wonder's contract.10 years ago
