Hello everyone, I hope you enjoy this guitar lesson of "Texas Flood". The lesson is played live with a backing track that I created. I played the bass and the drums were played by an awesome drummer Mr. Steve DiVirgilio - thanks (great job Steve)! I would like to give a very special thanks to Chris Walters at GHS Strings. Chris informed me that the set SRV used was the Nickel Rockers 1300 set, gauges 011-58. He was kind enough to send me several sets of the Pure Nickel ROLLERWOUND Low Tune (011-58)....and that's what you are hearing. The guitar is tuned to E Flat and they really do capture some awesome tones! Stevie Ray was one of my all time favorites and there's only one SRV. The amp and cab on camera was not used on this lesson. The only amp used on this video off camera was a Marshall JCM 900 SL-X 100 Watt. The cab off camera is a Marshall bottom cab loaded with Celestion Heritage Series G12M (my all time favorite speaker). The Mics used are a Heil PR30 and PR40 (I use these Mics exclusively in this combination for all my recordings..the quality of the Heil is exceptional)! The only effects that were used is an awesome Robert Keeley modded Ibanez TS-808 Tubescreamer (thanks Robert!) and one of my favorite effects an Orbit Electronix completely reworked Echoplex. The guitar is a 2011 Gibson Les Paul Axcess loaded with DiMarzio Bluesbucker pickups. I use Accusound Cables, Peterson Tuners, Essential Sound Products power cables, AF Designs Straps and last, but not least, which is also very important, I use a Dunlop 2.0 pick. I truly hope this info helps just in case someone likes and wants to achieve this tone. Thanks for watching!

I'll tell ya what Chelsea....you smoke on that guitar!!! It's hard to find a female who can really play well and with the feel that you have. Hope to see you at CAAS if you go next month (July 2015). You are a good teacher also!

Great job Chelsea! I wish more people did lessons this way. It's really frustrating to see online teachers spell out note for note, every single detail. In my opinion, if your ears aren't trained enough to decipher a slowed down lick, then you're not ready for intermediate/advanced level songs like these in the first place.Just my two cents.

I really believe you could be one of the best guitar teachers on youtube if you keep at it. Aside from that, do you have original music and recordings? I would like to hear!

Extremely impressive! Are you using 500K pots? Is this guitar set up with a coil splitter or are you in the normal humbucking configuration? Thanks, Chelsea.

Love this lesson. It's about playing and learning. Thank you. Too many instructional videos waste time on chit chat, fret number, string number, finger number. Just show me, man and shut up!!:)

Absolutely brilliant lesson Chelsea. I will freely admit that when I saw a Les Paul and a Marshall at the start, I thought "she must be joking". How wrong I was. You totally nailed it.
