I have a theory as to why Steve Perry's songs sound so much better and have so much more emotion when Steve Perry sang them vs Arnel Pineda. For one thing, Steve Perry WROTE a lot of the classic Journey songs and he seems to have put his heart and soul into each one. Each time he sings, "Patiently," the song takes Steve instantly back to that special moment in his life when he was about to become the lead singer for the biggest band in the world. It's quite different for Arnel, I am sure, who never wrote the classic Journey songs. It's hard to put your entire BEING into a song when you have no real connection to it other than being able to sound similar to Steve Perry. This is not a diss on Arnel.

I heard Arnel's last concert and he is losing his vocal range. Sounds a slight key below pitch and he doesn't hold the high chords anymore.

wonder why they cut it off so soon at the end?

Check out Brad Delp of a band named Boston. He is crazy good to. He and Freddie Mercury both have about the same exact vocal range at about a 4 to a 4 and a 1/2.
