Before Status Quo -- or shortly The Quo -- became famous for their boogie influenced hard rock, the group started in the late 60s as a psychedelic flavoured pop band. The absence of success initiated the band to change their musical direction. The song "Spinning Wheel Blues" is taken from their first hard rock-styled album "Ma Kelly's Greasy Spoon" (1970). Only a few years later the straight boogie rock became their signature sound throughout the 70s and a template for many following recordings.

Les Status Quo devenu connus grâce à leur boogie d'influence hard rock est un groupe qui commença son aventure à la fin des années 60. A leur début l'absence de succès les poussa à changer de style musical. La chanson "Spinning wheel blues" fut enregistrée pour leur premier album "Ma Kelly's greasy spoon" dont l'influence principale est le hard rock. Mais c'est seulement quelques années plus tard que le boogie rock est devenu leur style de prédilection pendant les années 70.
