In case you haven't already had a reply, it's from the song 'Dangerous Bacon' on the album 'The Man in the Bowler Hat'.

God I wish I had been a part of this era. I was a Stackridge fan since I was 5, but I've never been able to be a part of a musical scene.

Does anyone know where I can find sheet music/tabs for this tune?

I love Stackridge and I love the 20s music - but I never understood the 70s groups obsession with the 20s. Queen did it with good old fashioned lover boy (and several other album tracks at the same time) Sailor did it with Girls girls girls and there's more - why?

@TheAmazingMorse They reformed and are doing gigs mainly in the south of England - the same as the wonderful AUDIENCE, from the same time. 1970-72 (And I'm missing them, living as far north of England as you can just about go)

@fattyfudges They were indeed. Or rather ARE - they reformed a few years back. Even done a new album.

@FlyingJunk @FlyingJunk Yes absolutely sure they wrote it in 1975! You can hear an interview about the song on Stackridge's Lummy Days Podcast January 2009 (now available on Soundcloud.) at about 11 minutes in.

@FlyingJunk No it is a Stackridge original tune - what a fabulous lot they are.

This is actually a song from the 20's, innit?

@utz14 No they're really NOT like the Bonzo's - just this one song which is nothing like any of their others! I can't think of another band whose songs are so varied. To hear a good selection, go to mixcloud.com & search for Stackmix.

Sadly this seems to be the only footage of Stackridge in the 70,s available. They had their own 6 part half hour TV show on BBC West but it has been wiped. Also nobody has found any film of their appearances @ all the festivals they did in the 70,s including Reading ( Twice ) & of course the first Glastonbury in 1970. Loads of videos on You Tube of the band since they reformed in 2007 though.
