Pro: Unlike Evanescence, Soul Embraced actually means what they're saying (or growling)Con: Unlike Evanescence, they're growling. I personally think Evanescence did it better musically, but Soul Embraced actually has meaning in it, even though it's just growling. Another pro: To my knowledge, Soul Embraced didn't abandon Little Rock as their home base (and didn't make an album called "Anywhere But Home", and, being one who lives 10 minutes away from Little Rock, that's a good thing.

I contemplate that this fits more than Evanescence. I contemplate if a person were truly screaming from the depths of ... [for the sake of hoping to be remembered and saved] he/she would sound like this. Raspy. Disheveled. Aren't we all "ugly" after much suffering or made to feel ugly? Besides Evanescence took all the riffs... the melody.

well the people who say that this version is bad, surely are pop-rock listeners fans of evanescence. with that said, yes, the evanescence version fits more, but that doesn't mean that this is bad, what do is wrong with this version is the production, that's why this sounds so bad

So, after hearing the Evanescence version of the song (Which I loved), I wanted to hear this. This is just... Um... The instrumentals are great and somewhat familiar to the Ev version of this song. But, in my opinion, this just doesn't sound good. It's too heavy for my preferences.

Not really. Now, Christian black metal would be, but Death metal has a lot of different lyrical themes, from vikings to God to blood and gore to everyday things.
