I fell in love with the Bangles as soon as I watched them playing on MTV in the 80's their beautiful song "If she knew what she wants" and was totally captivated by Michael. When later, I watched her interviews and how she talked I felt she was a really beautiful person both outwardly and inwardly. Over the years although things have changed with Michael leaving music behind I still think she is a really beautiful person who together with three amazingly talented girls became the best girl band ever! I adore Michael's songs thank you for posting this one- just wish she had released enough to make an album of her songs because they are special and unique in every way just like she is-Wonderful!

Indeed she can. My absolute favourite song from the Bangles is "Following" (a "close relative" to Suzanne Vega's "Night Vision"). And on that one she really is down and dark, almost haunting.

Well, the articles (Michael Steele, The Bangles) on Wikipedia talks about the issue. Apparently, the group as a whole didn't want to promote "Doll Revolution" as much as she did. I guess the tensions within the band were resurfacing. In 1989 (when Columbia just wanted more of Hoffs), she said OK to dissolve the Bangles, being promised her own solo contract. A contract that never materialised.

I just read that she lost both her parents only with one year gap; at her young age...and she suffered a lot depression.....poor her. But she is really good on playing bass, that is for sure!!! Influenced by Paul Mc Bass (Cartney) and the like, she has perfected the play terrific!
