Doin' Alright by Smile. Written by Brian May and Tim Staffell. This track would later be re-recorded by Queen for their debut album. Recorded in June 1969 at Trident Studios in London. Produced by John Anthony.

Lyrics:

Yesterday my life was in ruin

Now today I know what I'm doing

Gotta feeling, I should be doing alright

Doing alright

Where will I be this time tomorrow

Jumped in joy or sinking in sorrow

Anyway, I should be doing alright

Doing alright

Should be waiting for the sun

Anyway I've got to hide

Going back to where the skies are blue (skies are blue)

Going home to find the world

Should be waiting for the sun

Anyway I've got to hide

Ahhh, ahhh, ahhh, ahhh, oooh

Yesterday my life was in ruin

Now today I know what I'm doing

Gotta feeling, I should be doing alright

Doing alright

Doing alright

Tower of Power

DOIN´ ALRIGHT pieseň skupiny SMILE, ktorej autormi boli Brian May a Tim Staffell a ktorú skupina nahrala v júni 1969 v Trident Studios v Londýne v produkcii Johna Anthonyho. Bola jedinou piesňou skupiny Smile, ktorú v novej verzii nahrala skupina QUEEN a vydala na albume QUEEN I, ktorý bol v UK rebríčku 18 týždňov od 30. marca 1974 a skončil na 24.m.

I think the title of my channel speaks for itself. Smoking a fine pipe tobacco and listening to any music associated with Queen is a great way to prepare for a great nights sleep!!!

Hey Farrokh, it's your cousin, Marvin, Marvin Bulsara, you know that new sound you've always been looking for, well listen to this!

Amazing! The Queen sound was already there, just waiting for Freddie to come and perfect it! Tim had a great voice. He should have been in a successful band.

I have a CD of Smile & early Queen songs, it's just a pity this song isn't on it.

As much as I can see where you are coming from, it is in fact Tim Staffell. Freddie wasn't in Smile, but sheesh he did sound a lot like him there didn't he hahaha

The Beatles were Queens favourite band- make sense. Good taste abounds. Who is the vocalist here? sounds like Freddie at 55 secs. ??

Amazing how May and Taylor had that harmony ready for Freddie. Taylor's toms are so out of tune with the rest of the track it's painful. BUT... it's all delicious stuff all the same. Queen's foetus. Long live the Queen and rest in peace dear Freddie x

I can imagine the beatles sounding something like this if they'd attempted to do this song

That's the Tim Staffell from the Morgan era. He played his electric guitar debut on 'What is - Is what'.

SMILE with Brian May had the bricks, you might say. However, when Freddie joined Queen, he brought the mortar that cemented the bricks; his unique vocal range, piano playing style, clever lyrics, etc. M-M-M- Marvelous!
