Thanks! Great clip -- think I'll show my future progeny that clip years from now to show them what Daddy was up to in '93... Smeared is still an embarrassment of riches -- maybe the band not so jazzed to fall back on 20-year-old tracks / 90s nostalgia, *although* I caught them playing the Peppermint EP (and the "Same Old Flame" / "Stood Up" 7"!) in its entirety at NXNE this year, at the murderecords 20th anniversary party... (Super Friendz slayed)

Amazing! I think it's a shame how Smeared has almost been written out of the band's history. The 1993 live bootleg they released a while back has some great moments on it, including a ripping version of Rag Doll (search "Sloan Bootleg Rag Doll" on here).

I remember Spin calling out the MBV parallels on their review of Smeared, which admittedly had more of a wall-of-sound feel to the production which bordered on shoegazer-y at times (Two Seater comes to mind). Said review also said the album sounded like "Cheap Trick on Quaaludes"...

Good catch! They recorded these with Anjali Dutt who worked on MBV's Loveless, and also mixed some other shoegaze classics like Swervedriver's Raise LP.
