okokok there is a poin for kerry to play his solo and that is that the drummer should know the song even if kerrry took out a harmonica and started doing blues scales over it hes expecting the drummer to play hell awaits. its acctually a BASIC thing that all band members do,reherse withot one guitar or vocals, or bass to ensure everybody knows the song and no matter what happens the song will go on. so when the rythm guitar dissapears its all up to this drummer to count and keeep it together. this is basic musical knowledge. if you play a song in front of an aidience you have to know yhe song. acctually i think Prince does it best, you can not be a member if you dont know the tunes on all instruments used within the song. so if there is violin and trumpet and you pla the triangle, then you should know their parts to

Who ever is hating your just jealous or too fixated on being Dave or Paul. Ive played drums for a long time the guy did fine. Who cares if he dropped a stick. I feel he had the right feel from the sound of it like a Dave lombardo feel real thrashy

Yes, it's long after the fact... apparently 12 years after. But it's impossible not to think what could have been.... instead of drafting in tired old one-two beat thrash metal drummers, as they did, they could have explored new worlds with this devastating black/death warrior on drums. But no, Slayer knew better. Hah.

No. It's fine being able to play that fast. But he didn't play it right. Kerry had to adjust his tempo when the fast bit kicked in because the drummer took off without him. Also, at the end of Jeff's solo section he didn't pause and swish the cymbals. Mike Mangini's audition video for Dream Theatre is a lesson in listening to what the band is doing and being able to keep rhythem and tempo even during improvised sections. Kerry didn't stray or improvise and the drummer still acted like he was doing his own thing. That's my Simon Cowell-esque critique. Not that my opinion is worth shit.
