Song "The Thirst Is Taking Over" by "Skillet" from album "Alien Youth". Enjoy!

Lyrics:

[CHORUS:]

You alone are what my soul needs

You know the thirst is taking over

Hardly breathe, I'm in urgent need

You know the thirst is taking over

The thirst is taking over

Hold me down, hold me down

Drip it on my tongue

And my convulsions stop

Thirst for love, thirst for your love

I could swallow your beauty whole

[CHORUS]

Running out, times running out

Searching for the one who can conquer me

I'm going to scream aloud, throw it down

Crash in the sweet obsession of you

I'm going to swim and drown in the wake of you

[CHORUS]

The thirst is taking over

I wanna taste it

I need to taste it

Deep in the Saviors arms

[CHORUS]

I wanna drink you in

I am drinking you in

I wanna drink you in

Hardly breathe, I'm in urgent need

You know the thirst is taking over

The thirst is taking over

I wanna taste it

I need to taste it

Deep in the Saviors arms

Skillet has the incredible ability to write songs with the meaning they intend them in, and also in a way that people could relate to the song, even if they're not Christians or religious. In the end it's about what we choose to hear, and how we choose to let the song affect us.

This song is written from the scripture, "those who thirst for righteousness shall be filled" from the gospel of Matthew. I urge you to find it and read the beatitudes. God bless all of you!

This song only makes sense if it's about God. So you can SAY that you can interpret it however you want, but in the end that is what the song is about. Just saying. I don't think any Christian band would have this powerful of lyrics if this was towards something else; like a girl for example. This is basically a worship song and if it wasn't about God then they'd be worshipping something else which goes straight against the Bible. Also, people saying this is about lust, no offence, but you're saying that because you don't understand when God's presence overwhelms you. But I'm not trying to judge you. 'Cause I might think in the exact same way if I wasn't a Christian or didn't understand the power of God in your people's lives. If you're questioning this, talk to God about it. He'll always listen to you.

You guys really think this song is about lust? Just because it uses the word "thirst?" The line, "Deep in the saviors arms.." I'm pretty sure what ever girl he likes isn't "the savior"...

all this arguing and no one has even mentioned anything about the one who can conquer him...

This song reminds me of a vampires thirst for blood. Is that just me or do other people think so too?

The things I like about this song, is that it can be looked at in different ways - someone's love for God and faith OR someone's love for another person. I guess it depends on the person who listens to it.

Does anybody else think this is another song dedicated to an obsession with Dr. Pepper? xD

You retards who keep saying that this isn't a Christian song, well it is because Skillet is a Christian band and every song the have has to do with God or Jesus so everyone one of you non-believers get your balls out of your mouth and learn to live life with the one and only God who loves you

The sad thing about Christian rock is the weirdo Christians that listen to it. :'(
