UPDATE: TAB AVAILABLE @ http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/s/siouxsie_and_the_banshees/spellbound_ver3_tab.htm

So.

I've got a message some time ago and they deactivated my Spellbound video because of copyright problems. Guess it only matters if the song got into the charts since the others are still online.

Anyways, I decided to record the whole thing again. To show the way the guitar is played. So don't mind the guide vocals. (I think they are mixed low enough not to disturb anyone). Drums are sampled.

There are, as always, a few screw ups... but I think this time it's prett accurate.

Will be getting to correct the tabs soon too.

As for the main riff and the chorus, my buddy Fernando pointed out how he thought it was played... and I guess he was right!

So this one goes out to Fernando.

I'm working on Head Cut, oh it's a pain... some help would be nice ;)

Cheers!

Good effort. There are a few mistakes, especially the last parts. But, still, great taste! :-)

I was trying to read the tab on another page and it was melting my head..and this vid has just melted it some more.John McGeoch was a very original guitarist and you are really cool for being able to work out what he was doing.Any chance of an instructional video for us lesser mortals?cheers

Awesome job a VERY tricky song to play. Most people probably don't realize how hard this song is to play thinking incorrectly that "its just another punk band who cant play their instruments" !!

I'll add it to the "to-do" list... it's not a song that I usually listen too, but I think it's very simple to play, just like Mirage... I wish I could have seen them live with JmG but alas, I was too young back then to care about good music :)

wonder if you could do playground twist? Id love to see you play it. I saw banshees countless times, and the best years were when John McGeoch played for them. So sad when he passed away, he was a legend, and I think he would be so proud of your efforts.

It seems, also, the 1000s had a set neck vs. neck-through on the 3000s.

I think mainly, the pickups and the finish. The 1000s came with the alnico or something... and the 3000s with "Spinex" pickups and a lot of shiny finishes.

Without the ring finger you'll have to stretch quite a bit... :-|

BTW what are the main differences between a 1000 & 3000, does anyone know?

I think you are right about the chords sounding different without Severin's bass notes. I was trying to learn this but it's difficult as I can't use my ring finger.
