Hi Shirley & Lee, your music brought wonderful times to me/us in Jamaica way back then. Every one loved your music and never got tired of hearing them. I can't begin to tell you the many times I've danced to your musics while romancing the beautiful girls of those times. To hear you now on utube takes me back to those wonderful youthful years of yesterthen. Life and living were happier and can/will never be forgotten, thanks to Shirley & Lee. Fond memories to you both and a long happy life.

R&B pioneers from New Orleans.......This is where the Cajun term (lassiez le bon ton roule") originated, "let the good times roll"!

18 years since the song was out and they sound so good in 1974, especially Shirley. What's striking to me in the 1956 version is how clear and crisp Shirley is and she sounded pretty much the same in 1974; Lee sounded the same, as well- so very cool..

It is interesting that The Midnight Special would introduce them as Shirley and Lee. That is Shirley, but that is not Lee. That is Ludie Washington. A good friend of Shirley's and good singer. I am Shirley's Daughter-in-law to her only son and I know. It is still a good performance, but in all fairness to Lee's family, that is not him.

The #1 greatest R&B recording of all time, and this live performance of it is better than the original record.
