"Love is Strange" was a crossover hit by American rhythm and blues duet Mickey & Sylvia, which was released in late november 1956 by the Groove Record Label.
Mickey & Sylvia was an American R&B duo composed of Mickey Baker and Sylvia Vanderpool, who later became Sylvia Robinson.
Mickey was a music instructor and Sylvia one of his pupils. Baker was inspired to form the group by the success of Les Paul & Mary Ford. They had a Top 20 hit with "Love Is Strange" in 1956. The record sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc.

Some people are so versatile. Mickey was a jazz player who played with people like Charley Parker back in the bop days. His yellow and black book Jazz Guitar, changed the way I played guitar and showed me,when I bought it back in 1961, that there are more than 3 chords.
