Searchers - Needles and Pins 1994

Released 1963

I saw her today,

I saw her face

It was the face I love,

and I knew

I had to run away

And get down on my knees and pray,

that they go away

And still it begins,

needles and pins

Because of all my pride,

the tears I gotta hide.

Yeah I thought I was smart,

I stole her heart

I didn't think I'd do,

but now you see

She's worth to him than me,

let her go ahead

Take his love instead,

and one day she will see

Just how to say please,

and get down on her knees

Yeah that's how it begins,

you'll feel those needle and pins

Hurtin' her, hurtin' her

Why cannot stop, and tell myself

I'm wrong, I'm wrong, so wrong

Why cannot stand up,

and tell myself I'm strong

Because I saw her today,

I saw her face

It was the face I love,

and I knew

I had to run away

And get down on my knees and pray,

that they go away

And still it begins,

those needles and pins.

Because of all my pride,

the tears I gotta hide

Oh needles and pins,

needles and pins, needles and pins

needles and pins, needles and pins

needles and pins, needles and pins.

I've loved Spencer since his days with "First Class." Members above are: John McNally on lead guitar (original-present); Frank Allen on bass (1964-present); Spencer James lead singer/guitar (1986-present); Billy Adamson on drums (1970-1998).

Great to see Spencer with some hair - he's a real cool dude!

Is Frank Allen the member of the band who is shown pulling his pants down in a photo of the band, nearly exposing his pubic hair?

I agree - don't think it's live

Doesn't sound very "live", does it?

sporadically

He's not bad at physics but I really miss the nifty drum rolls on the original record. Check out the live version on the Ed Sullivan show.

OK, here's the breakdown...John McNally (extreme right) is one of the originals. Major Hottie Frank Allen 8^) (middle) replaced Tony Jackson when Jackson left in 1964. The guy to the left is Spencer James has been with the band since 1986. He's from the group First Class (Beach Baby, asong that was poular in the fall of 1974. Different drummer now.
