*Screaming Trees* *Flying*Gregg Ginn and SST Records played an important role in cultivating the early Grunge bands, so much that I feel he is the unsung *Patron Saint* of the whole sound.The SST label allowed indie bands to sign single record deals, record in a 16 track studio fairly cheap, and get a few thousand records pressed on a shoestring budget.Screaming Trees put out their EP on Seattle's Velvetone Records, but that label referred them to SST to get their first full album done, they would go on to record 2 more albums on SST before getting signed by Epic and having that album produced by Soundgarden's Chris Connel to cement their place in the Seattle Grunge scene.Your long winded host, +Andrew Coffman (just a few more history notes, bear with me ;) )#fns #aru #aruflannel #screamingtrees
