I met an actual DEAF Poet, when I was traveling with the RAINBOW up to Santa Cruz - CA. I mean an actual deaf kid who could rap. We called him Marley, his real name was Robert - I believe. We split an oz of shrooms on the beach with some random Grateful and etc. Kid could spit like no one's business. Best part?He rapped along to a fellow beatboxing. I asked him how he could rap like that afterwards. He said he followed his heartbeat. We talked about how everyone's heartbeats were the same in the circle, etc etc afterwards.Marley, wish I could have taken you with me. You're one tough mother--."City slums mute our drums, city slums have never been where our drums are from.Just the place where our daughters and sons become off-beat heartbeats. "

I've listened to this song a lot especially when i'm high. I think he is talking about not wanting to be controlled by the system, "Now we have to use drum machines as if my heartbeat was not enough. "I will not rhyme on tracks, niggers on a chain yang use to do that, don't drop the beat on me. I thunk this means he doesn't not want to conform to mental slavery by dancing to the beat dropped by the government.since its poetry i believe it has many interpretations. What do you think its about?

I find this song every few years and I'm always in awe of the beauty of language and rhythm he possesses. Makes me proud to be human. At least I have that in common with a magician like him. Man I love this! Props to the end Saul:)
