I've listened to this song a lot especially when i'm high. I think he is talking about not wanting to be controlled by the system, "Now we have to use drum machines as if my heartbeat was not enough. I thunk this means he doesn't not want to conform to mental slavery by dancing to the beat dropped by the government.since its poetry i believe it has many interpretations.
