This is Saraya Live! in 1991 in N.Y.

I recorded it from TV to camera so the video is not the greatest but it's good enough for now until I figure out how to transfer it to MPEG.

Enjoy it! I still Kicks Ass!

Come visit my SARAYA FAN page and listen to more videos and songs. :)

I appreciate hearing the stories of others regarding Saraya. Indeed, THE most amazing, professional, and tight falling-by-the-wayside I have ever seen. It IS time for Sandi to bury the hatchet and do Firefest. I will pay for her kids to go if I have to! Deal with it like adults.

Sandy sounds great live - good pitch, strong voice. Christina Scabbia from Lacuna Coil kind of reminds me of Sandy...but Sandy was there first. :)

The opening chords sound like "Warriors of the world" by Manowar.

@uapeople Chuck drumming on "Blackbird sings" was a big inspiration for me I love his style!

I remember Tony from all the way back to the "Swift Kick" days... he was the best rock guitarist on LI at that time... at least from the major bands playing LI back then. From Zebra, Twisted, etc.... Tony was easily the most tasteful, interesting player. And he really did well over the years.

Saraya was incredible and I loved watching them live. Awesome band. The bassist, Barry Dunaway, is a good friend of mine and parted with the very bass you see in this video. He also played it on the Yngwie "Trial by Fire" tour and I became the VERY lucky new owner. He told me many great stories about being on the road with Saraya and I'm still in awe that he was so cool to let me take such a treasure into my collection.

I agree. I was however thinking exactly this today when I wikipedia 'd Tony Rey. I was thinking how terrible that such a player was so underated and went nowhere.... Ha ha and there he is - musical director /producer for massive artists and really made! ha ha. I saw him in the UK at the Marquee club... and there he is on video playing Madison Square Garden with Enrique Inglesias!

this is great but it makes one kinda sad-for all of the great bands like Saraya that did'nt get their proper dues and all of the absolute crap that makes it through to become a hit......lots of it has to do with management and the label support.

I remember having both their albums as a kid. I was totally in love with Sandi! I remember them performing a free concert in my hometown of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio (outside Akron) There were about 10,000 people there and they rocked my 13yr old ass off!

I saw them open for Bad English at Trenton State College in NJ. They rocked. One of my buddies named his daughter Saraya after the band. Pretty cool....

They opened for Badlands, this was at the Ritz I think. Both bands kicked ass. Don't see shows like this anymore.
