This song should have been sung at Nelson Mandela's funeral by Blondie.

Fake Appellation

If Danko was drunk, you know Buttefield was, but still played fantastic harp here. This Blondie Chaplin's 'singing" is a sick joke. Never once on pitch.

I was referring to the living Beach Boys. Carl had one of the greatest voices in rock. No one could sing God Only Knows like Carl. But of the surviving Beach Boys Al Jardine does have the best voice today. It is sure better than asshole Mike's. Carl wanted to progress and Mike basically turned the Beach Boys into an oldies act. That's a shame.

Agree with the great versions you mentioned. Carl had the group (with Ricky and Blondie) in position to moving to a new level. Shame the other members didn't want to evolve

@hippocles: Blondie used to wow the crowd when he sang lead on 'Wild Honey'. The only original Beach Boy with an excellent voice is Al Jardine. His solo album, Postcard from California' is great and it came out just the other year. Great guests on the album are musicians like Stephen Stills. 'Don't Fight the Sea' is technically considered the last real Beach Boys song. Al sounds like he's in his twenties.
