[Person 1:]

"close my eyes

Pull my heart strings

Pour my tears from your hands

'connections are never easy,'

You said empty words

Empty soul

I believe that we are afraid of one another"

[Person 2:]

"And I, I believe that you have died within me"

... I fade from myself

I miss you again

I fade from myself

I miss you again... again

(what have we got?)

Bloody broken and hidden away

I seek the rope from which we will hang

Or so it seems

Or so it seems

The dance of flesh on flesh has rendered us blind

[Person 1:]

"I look into eyes, I look into stone

It's better to be stepped on than left all alone...

So now I choke on yesterday when I was someone

And I wonder where 'forever' went

And how our 'everything' came undone

I opened my eyes and beneath us the heavens died."

Every tone in this song compliments each other. Another style scream would definitely change the overall feel of the song. Not as good as Hot Cross though.

I think especially the fact that he doesn't sound like the usual post-hardcore screamer is what makes him so special. Nowadays screaming is is often about being dynamic and powerful and less about the actual expression. As result I personally think many singers lose the emotional part of their screaming. He's the direct opposite of that. Even though he might uses the wrong technique or sounds like Mickey mouse you can hear so much true emotions in his voice. Does it sound terrible ? Yes but maybe this is exactly what he feels like and what he wants to express with this song. Does it makes the song any worse ? I don't think so ;)

I have been coming back to this song every year or so for as long as I can remember. I found it on accident when I was maybe 14 or 15 and have been coming back every year for more. Such a great band, shame they never made it.

Goddamn. It was pretty legit until he started screaming gibberish. That screaming is just terrible. I seriously laughed. These cats should have just quit that and they'd be fucking great.

The high-school "emo social style" (or whatever-the-folk) is almost spot on with the way real emo and screamo bands like to dress (mainly the main singers lol). But what people view as "real" emo music is just ignant

Authority real" Screamo" band, with no dispregiative like many modern post-hardcore/metalcore bands.

uhhh the dudes voice just saying this shit is the sort of pretentious shit that makes screamo shitty overall.ima stick with pg 99

Check out my full cover of this song: Venus and Bacchus (Saetia cover) I tried to stay as close to the original as possible although I can't scream like Billy Werner but I took my time to learn all parts (drums, bass, guitar) note by note :)

I change my mind, this is definitely a new favorite. Just took some time to grow. I can really really appreciate the screaming, it sounds as if he's actually mad, instead of screaming for the sake of it.

Skramz is my favorite, but I'm really just not into this. Try I Hate Myself, I Wrote Haikus About Cannibalism In Your Yearbook, Sleeping Body or Jeromes Dream :)
