I do love this song more than lots of others I cherich. It´s one of the most beautiful and touching songs I´ve ever heard. One of my top five. I found music of Russ Columbo when I was 20 (22 years ago)... a record/ LP... listened to some songs in the store and was thrilled - especially from this haunting song :-)

I love the way he sang..It was in my fathers days..I hear him ant think of my father my dadl loved the way he sang.. He sang beautifull and feelings. Had he lived he would have been better than Crosby..

@TonyfromConey - In my book Russ was better than Crosby. Russ was more sincere and touched the heart. Bing never did anything much for me, sorry. My opinion only.

Russ Columbo with one of his signature songs reaches across 8 decades to hit us right in the heart.Tragically killed in a gun accident at age 26. What a loss of such a blossoming Super Star. We will never know if he would have reached the heights of Vallee and Crosby ,but at the time he was right there at the time of his death.
