I honestly really like the Alice Cooper version of this song too. I don't think I've heard a bad rendition of it yet.

I don't think that they were trying to be better. they were paying homage to the bands and songs they grew up listening to. Its very difficult to be better than any original because only the artist who wrote it knows their intent and has the feeling and passion for it. This is a fun rendition to listen to but it certainly doesnt have the feel of the original. they're just playing the song. and its fun and different for them.

I personally like this version better. the original is more raw. But, I like the polished sound and drumming better here.
